The West Palm Beach Library Foundation received $15,000 from the Wachovia Wells Fargo Foundation for the purchase of Early Literacy Bilingual Stations. The Literacy Stations are designed to strengthen the skills of preschoolers and promote school readiness. The new computers will be installed in the KidsSpace area of the West Palm Beach Public Library and will replace ordinary PCs which are more than six years old.

“The Early Literacy Station is not an average computer,” said Elizabeth Arevalo, Executive Director of the West Palm Beach Library Foundation. “The computer is specifically designed to captivate, stimulate, entertain and educate kids to improve upon their early literacy skills.”

“The Wachovia Foundation has a rich history of supporting educational initiatives,” said Frank Newman, Wachovia’s Regional President. “By investing in the Early Literacy Bilingual Stations, we can ensure that kids are able to acquire the skills they need to be successful when they begin school.”
