Making A Difference

Public libraries are a transformational force in people’s lives. Florida’s communities get a direct economic benefit of $6 billion from public libraries. Libraries also are a valued destination. For example, five times more people visit public libraries in the United States than attend professional and college football, basketball, baseball and hockey games combined. In the past, more than 500,000 people annually visited the West Palm Beach Public Library. That number is expected to double this year with the new Library at City Center, with double the circulation of books and materials. However, the Library remains diligent in keeping costs down by only increasing the staff by two people and utilizing improvements in technology to reallocate staff and resources.
The librarians at the West Palm Beach Public Library are a reliable source of helpful information. From researching phone numbers, looking up books and periodicals and gathering data to assisting patrons — even helping one secure a prescription drug discount card, our librarians are committed to helping people and improving lives. The non-profit, tax-exempt West Palm Beach Library Foundation is dedicated to supporting the West Palm Beach Library’s new facility, new and existing programs and beneficial services that support residents and improve lives.
Your support will help make the Library the world-class facility this community deserves by enhancing technology, collections and ongoing programs.
The Library Foundation is committed to raising private sector donations to enhance the Library’s technology, books and media collections, programming and events with a focus on creating an endowment for such future needs.
